Free Workshop for Aspiring Rice Farmers
Curious about growing rice in Nova Scotia? Join us for a hands-on workshop hosted by NIKIAN Farm, a Granville Beach farm that has been successfully cultivating rice since 2014. We're excited to share our knowledge and support others interested in ecological rice farming.
This workshop will cover essential topics such as:
- Building and managing a rice paddy
- Seeding, planting, and crop care
- Harvesting, threshing, and dehusking
- Storage, distribution, and maximizing yield
- Water and nutrient management
Rice is a nutrient-dense, high-value crop with strong potential for Nova Scotia’s farmers. Come learn how rice farming can contribute to local food security and sustainable agriculture across the region.
