ACORN Conference 2023

Resilience is the capacity to withstand or recover quickly from adversity. In this time of climate crisis and global uncertainty, it is vitally important to strengthen regional food systems. Organic and ecological farm management practices are more resilient in many ways including improved soil health and greater biodiversity, as well as, less dependence on inputs like synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. A resilient regional food system also requires efficient supply chains, shortening, strengthening and diversifying pathways between growers and consumers. Join us for ACORN Conference 2023 as we explore ways to move Toward Regional Resilience.

February 13-14 (Online)

We'll have two afternoons of virtual presentations. Join us from the comfort of your home to learn about soil health, nutrient management, Atlantic seed, international organic initiatives and more!

February 19-20 (In-person)

We're getting together at the Dieppe Farmers' Market for workshops, food and networking! Workshop topics include value-added, cooperative marketing, extended-season greens production, weed management, flower production, beekeeping and more!

Sunday evening will feature a potluck supper followed by presentation of the Gerrit Loo Award and an evening of entertainment; Monday's lunch will be catered. If you have seeds or books to share, bring them along to the Seed Swap and Book Swap!

If you'd like to volunteer to help out at the in-person event on February 19-20, please get in touch with Desiree at acornoffice@acornorganic.org.

Accommodation

We have a block of rooms at the Wingate Wyndham Dieppe for ACORN conference attendees at a rate of $149/night + tax.
