Resilience is the capacity to withstand or recover quickly from adversity. In this time of climate crisis and global uncertainty, it is vitally important to strengthen regional food systems. Organic and ecological farm management practices are more resilient in many ways including improved soil health and greater biodiversity, as well as, less dependence on inputs like synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. A resilient regional food system also requires efficient supply chains, shortening, strengthening and diversifying pathways between growers and consumers. At ACORN Conference 2023 we'll explore ways to move Toward Regional Resilience.
