12:00 pm - 1:00 pm ~ Bring-your-own picnic lunch at Dal Alumni Garden (62 Cumming Dr., Bible Hill, NS)
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm ~ Farm Tour & Work Bee at Cultiv8 Farm (77 Pictou Rd., Bible Hill, NS)
Join us as we begin the day with a morning tour of Good Clean Farm, a certified organic farm in Salmon River. Learn about the farm’s approach to soil health, greenhouse production, and sustainable growing practices, while connecting with fellow growers and local food lovers.
After a picnic lunch break at the Dal Alumni Garden, we'll spend the afternoon exploring the student learning farm, hearing about their ecological growing practices, and connecting with fellow farmers and food growers. We'll tour the Cultiv8 fields, hear about the farm's approach to soil health, fertility, and production, then roll up our sleeves to help tackle a farm project together.
This is a chance to learn by doing, share knowledge, and support a local farm during the busy growing season. Whether you're an experienced farmer, a new grower, or simply curious about organic agriculture, all are welcome to attend and participate in any/all portions of the day.
