The Manitoba Organic Development Fund (MODF) will support its first project, the development of a digital marketing tool to help organic farmers find price information and buyers. The MODF is leading Canada’s first organic grain check-off program. Since August 2021, buyers of Manitoba-grown organic cereals, oilseeds and pulses have collected and remitted 0.5% of gross sales to the fund. Proceeds of the check-off will support organic research, extension and market development. These check-ff dollars can be leveraged to raise more funds, through provincial programs for example, amplifying their impact. Read more.
