Last week, federal, provincial, and territorial Ministers of Agriculture reached an agreement in principle for the next Agricultural Policy Framework (2023-2028) which they have named Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership. Key outcomes include $500 million in new funds for federal-provincial cost-share programs (25% increase) and $250 million for the Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program funding farming that supports carbon sequestration, adaptation, and other environmental co-benefits. Farmers for Climate Solutions have been working to make climate solutions a central part of this new agreement. Click HERE to read their response.
