ACORN-NL is planning to offer a provincial organic agriculture conference in St. John’s in late October 2010, and is seeking to contract a conference coordinator to oversee the organization and delivery of the conference. The Ecology Action Centre, established in 1971, is Nova Scotia's largest and most active environmental organization. We work on sustainable transportation, marine and coastal issues, wilderness issues, urban issues, sustainable food production and alternative energy. Membership is an essential component of the Centre. Our members direct our work, support us and give us a mandate. EAC currently has approximately 1200 members. With this six week membership canvass we hope to increase our mandate and encourage more of our supporters to join.
