Once a week, the asphalt slab that is the parking lot at the Lunenburg Community Centre
will be transformed into a vibrant cinema, like the travelling theatres of old. It is amazing

Vendors put up their tents like seasoned pros; others prepare their vegetables, arrange
their plants and flowers, carefully lay out fresh-baked breads, pies, cookies. Still others
prepare food samples for people to try, write prices on weathered chalk boards, and
rearrange goods so they look most appealing.

with the Recreation and Parks Department of the City of Saint John. It was established to
provide an opportunity for citizens to have a place to garden. The Community Garden is
located on the former site of the Rockwood Elementary School.
The Garden initially consists of over 100 small plots, on which citizens will be able to grow
a variety of vegetables and flowers. The plots are open to residents of Saint John, and are
distributed on a first come basis. Citizens who have plots are required to abide by rules of
the Garden, and pay a nominal fee of $15.
The G.S.J.C.G. committee consists of citizens who are volunteering their services to help
